STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of this agreement is to establish a Strategic Partnership between the
Parties to promote minority economic development while striving to honor the African American cultural significance of the Old Hayti community located on the site of the Heritage Square Redevelopment project.
PARTIES:
Scientific Properties is a real estate development company owned and managed by Mr. Andrew Rothschild with an office located at 411 W. Chapel Hill St., Durham, NC. The company values diversity within the community and works to promote that diversity in its workforce and business practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Scientific Properties agrees to:
· Work with The Institute for Minority and Economic Development to identify and utilize qualified minority contractors during the construction phase of this project, as well as in its efforts to recruit retail, residential and office tenants.
· Encourage companies under contract with Scientific Properties to utilize qualified minority suppliers and to recruit and hire job applicants from Hayti and its surrounding communities.
· Be in communication with the community during the development, construction and tenant recruitment process via handouts, a web site and public meetings on issues of interest.
· Support our strategic partners in projects relative to economic and community development.
· Participate in and support the Minority Enterprise Development Week Activities in partnership with The Institute for Minority and Economic Development.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF PARTNERSHIP
The Partners have authority to make public their relationship with and to refer to the partnership in brochures, advertisements, press releases, and other media.
The Partners will be entitled to receive timely responses to questions and concerns during the course of this Agreement.
TIME
This Agreement shall begin on the dates both parties sign and continue indefinitely, or until either party terminates the Agreement in writing.
